Farida Irani launched Subtle Energies in the ’90s in a response to a rising rate of burnout she was seeing in corporate office culture and uses her over 25 years of wellness expertise and research to provide Ayurveda aromatherapy products for both clinical and personal use. Yogalife chats with Farida to know more about Ayurvedic aromatherapy and the brand.

Both Ayurveda and Aromatherapy on their own are time-tested in-depth sciences.

Ayurveda itself is over 5000 years old in written texts and involves 8 branches of medicine including surgery, psychiatry and toxicology.

Aromatherapy and Aromatic medicine have also been there since time immemorial.
There is a perception that these oils are just for ‘relaxation’, without realising the potency they can have on a therapeutic level or even specifically for anti-ageing such as cellular regeneration, pigmentation issues and hormonal imbalance.

Subtle Energies comes from a clinical space that has evolved over 25 years. It is this clinical space and research combined with the reputation of our active ingredients and oils that have provided the results-oriented products and treatments used within the spa industry. As the work of the clinic progressed, I began teaching and eventually the courses received accreditation as a Diploma in Ayurveda Aromatherapy. In 2010 we launched our work as a skincare brand working with partners who could take on the depth of work such as the Mandarin Oriental in Dubai.

The Subtle Energies products are designed and formulated with knowledge intuition, intent and care. The essential oils are the Prana, Qi, or life force of the plant.
They are the defence mechanism of the plant and are therefore antimicrobial, anti- viral, anti-bacterial, anti-fungal to a greater or lesser degree. We are synergising that defence mechanism with our own, thereby enhancing our immunity.
The base or carrier oils are cold pressed vegetable oils. They are rich with essential fatty acids and nutrients, benefiting those who utilize the products.
Ayurveda and Aromatherapy minimise the side effects of conventional medicines and the essential oils assist as probiotics and as anti-microbials, thereby assist in keeping the common cold and cough at bay. Also being anti-inflammatory and analgesic they assist in inflammatory and pain-based disorders alongside conventional medicine if required.

Therefore, using the Subtle Energies products with these active ingredients will build up immunity, confidence and bring about physical and emotional balance and wellbeing. People who use the products will be able to choose a day by design living the lives they love to live.
These time-tested sciences compliment conventional medicine and specially these days there is a huge demand for natural therapies which are results oriented.
Aromatics are amazing tools given to us by Mother Nature and we can use them to our benefit bringing about physical, mental and emotional equilibrium. Being vibrationary they also assist in raising our consciousness to its optimum level, along with meditation and a healthy lifestyle, following a Dinacharya (daily routine) as per Ayurveda and Aromatherapy principles and philosophy.
