After an indeterminate Quarantine period and once things start returning to near normalcy, a wellness retreat is a must! It will be good to eat better, get fit, and clear the mental clutter. We bring you snapshots of Wellness Resorts over the world and their wellness programs. The Alpina Gstaad has all that you need to combat stress and anxiety. Just what you will need post Coronavirus! It will be a Swiss Summer of Dreams! At the Alpina Gstaad, guests have always been encouraged to slow down.

Opening for the summer season from 3 July – 13 September, the hotel is focusing more than ever on helping its guests to heal; from immersion in the natural wonderland of the Swiss Bernese Oberland, to new spa retreats and comforting cuisine. Plan ahead and enjoy some teasers and tasters before you go.

Solitude in Nature: Explore by e-bike
Sustainable, fast and fun, e-bikes are a great way to explore the mountains. This summer, The Alpina Gstaad is offering guests complimentary use of its e-bikes, to discover more of its natural surroundings, fresh alpine air and unpolluted peace.  Watch the video:

2 NEW Spa Retreats
Restorative programmes launch each season in the Six Senses Spa Gstaad. This summer, two new retreats emphasise mental wellbeing and holistic healing. Energy Sound Healing Retreat – Release tension, activate your chakras and restore balance. This 2-day, 3-night retreat will elevate energy levels, provide heightened awareness and mental clarity. Fully personalised thanks to a Wellness Screening using over 40 biomarkers, it includes Reiki and Sound Healing, yoga and meditation.

Forest Healing Journey – Finger reflexology using seeds (Earth), Tibetan healing breathing (Air), river meditation (Water), sun gazing (Fire) and open sky meditation (Space). They’re all used to excite the senses on this journey through nature’s five elements.

Natural Summer Beauty: Six Senses Spa Alchemy Bar
Embrace beauty without parabens or petrochemicals at the spa’s Alchemy Bar. Benefit from nature’s healing powers and create customised products from various ingredients. Choose from Swiss indigenous herbs and plants – many sourced from the hotel’s organic garden – to develop your own aromatic scrubs, bath bombs and face masks.

Balanced Body & Mind: Holistic Anti-Ageing
Achieve balance through scientific advances in nutrition and neuroscience, combined with ancient wisdom. Featuring a range of treatments, yoga, meditation and fitness activities, these 3 and 5-night personalised programmes will help you overcome lifestyle-related ageing effects and extend your health span.

Pre-travel taster: Try this Alchemy Bar Detoxifying scrub at home:
Exfoliation boosts the health and appearance of the skin – this recipe uses salt to draw out toxins and almond oil to nourish.

A new ‘Beekeeper’ experience launches this summer for The Alpina Gstaad’s younger guests (and honey-loving adults). Get kitted out in protective clothing and visit the hotel beehives, to discover how the sticky stuff is made and why bees are crucial to biodiversity. The 45-minute workshop is led by a professional beekeeper and concludes with a bee documentary screened in the hotel’s Private Cinema (and a pot of honey to take home).

NEW Chef Pâtissier & Weekend Crêpes
Bringing fresh flair to the hotel’s pastries and sweet treats is new Chef Pâtissier, Vasileios Klonaris. He previously worked at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel Hyde Park and Berkeley Hotel in London. Pre travel taster – try this pineapple crêpe recipe at home:
