This Ramadan change your approach and see some serious progress with your health. Take BARE DXB’s Ramadan Challenge to keep fit this holy month.

Working out during Ramadan is challenging however the fitness hub located in Business Bay says don’t stop! Starting 9th April join BARE DXB on its 14 day Ramadan Challenge, whether you are fasting or not. Based on BARE’s highly successful 14 day challenge, the Ramadan Challenge is uniquely structured so you may make the most of this holy month. BARE will help you with what to eat and how to train, with ongoing support from expert coaches and your ‘BARE fam’.

Despite a month spent removing food and drink for large parts of the day, many gain weight. To help you maintain your fitness during the holy month here are some tips from the guys at BARE.

1.    Enjoy iftar but keep eating strictly within an hour and try to keep 90% of your food free from sugar, grains and potato. Late night before bed eat 1 – 2 eggs with ½ avocado, and/or some yogurt. Avoid food that will dehydrate you.

2.    Cheat meals are ok. One to two cheat meals a week will keep you motivated and social.

3.    Don’t stop training! Burn fat, not lean muscle, and keep your metabolism boosted. The best time to train is before Iftar, you can break your fast immediately after training with isotonic drinks, fruit or a protein shake.

4.    Avoid working out in the morning. You are more likely to burn muscle rather than fat, you don’t want to put unnecessary stress on your nervous system and organs.

5.    Your goal is maintenance and not fitness progression. If you currently workout, reduce your effort level to 60%, at least for the first few sessions.
