Ramadan is almost here. Maintaining a healthy glow can be challenging as changes in diet and sleep patterns can affect the skin’s appearance. Mukta Tewani, Founder, MissPalettable comes up with some tips that you can follow to help keep your skin healthy and radiant throughout the holy month.
Keep your body hydrated between Iftar and Suhoor. Drink plenty of water or infuse your water with fruits for an extra pizazz.. You can also incorporate hydrating foods such as watermelons, cucumbers and oranges during your meals at night. Try and avoid caffeine and carbonated drinks if possible.
Eat a balanced diet
Try and eat a balanced diet of whole grains, fruits, vegetables, and lean proteins during your iftar and suhoor meals. Avoid consuming too much sugar and processed foods as these can lead to breakouts and dull skin.
Moisturizing your skin is essential. Use a moisturizer that’s suitable for your skin type and apply it regularly to keep your skin hydrated. As always if you will be outdoors, please wear your SPF.
Our favorite clean moisturiser is Zafaran Supreme Total Rebuild Face Cream.
A great hack is to keep a makeup mist in your bag for the moments when you need that extra boost. Our favorite mist is the CLE Cosmetics Lifting Mist
Get enough sleep
Lack of sleep can lead to lackluster skin. Try to get as much rest as you can. Listen to your body while you are fasting and rest when you need to.
Post iftar if you haven’t been moving much during the fasting hours, try and get a light walk in, just to get your blood flowing and maintain overall good health.
Add berries to your diet, as they are antioxidants. Have a handful of berries ready in between Iftar and suhoor or make a berries smoothie.
